Larry Walter, Ph.D.
Manager / Member / Senior Geophysicist / Sales
E-mail: lwalter@apexhp.com

Larry began his professional career in 1976 as a Geo-electrical interpreter using Magneto-Telluric methods in various geothermal provinces of the U.S. In 1977 he joined Geosource, Inc. supervising 2D &3D seismic crew operations throughout the Rocky Mountain Region and the high Arctic. In over 10 years with Geosource, he worked in development of seismic instrumentation for emerging geophysical methods including; land 2D & 3D systems, multi-component seismic sources and receivers, bandwidth optimization of vibrator sources, fiber optic telemetry systems, spatial and temporal resolution enhancement methods, and borehole seismic methods including VSP.

In 1987 he began development of inter-well seismic tomography imaging systems with Kim Tech and Bolt Technologies. These developments included; borehole air gun and orbital vibratory sources, multi-level 3 component borehole receivers, and innovative coiled tubing methods for deployments in high temperature geothermal wells. Through these developments he was privileged to work closely with the US National Laboratories and US Department of Energy on collaborative programs for enhanced oil recovery and reservoir characterization technologies. In 1992 he directed a commercial development program using microseismic diagnostics for the Gas Research Institute and Sandia National Labs.

In 1996 he joined OYO Geospace to pursue the continued development of high resolution seismic systems used in advanced reservoir characterization technologies. The growth of OYO Geospace has led to an exciting collection of advanced real-time seismic systems for the well bore, the deep ocean, and advanced permanent and retrievable land and marine seismic systems.

Brian Fuller, Ph.D.
Manager / Member / Senior Geophysicist / Sales
E-mail: bfuller@apexhp.com

Brian has twenty-nine years experience in the oil and gas industry as a seismic data processing geophysicist and software, and technology developer. His formal education includes BS (1980, Western Washington University, Bellingham, Washington) MS and PhD (1985, 1989, University of Wyoming, Laramie, Wyoming) degrees in Geophysics with study in related fields of geology, mathematics, and signal processing. Prior to graduate school Brian worked 3 years as an exploration geophysicist with Amoco Production Company. Following graduate school he worked 7 years in software development with Advance Geophysical (later Landmark Graphics) and then moved to Paulsson Geophysical where he was a lead software developer and lead 3D VSP data processor.

In 2003 Brian joined Marc Sterling at Sterling Seismic Services where they co-developed the 3D VSP data processing technology used today by Apex HiPoint today. Brian, Marc, and other partners formed HiPoint Reservoir Imaging in 2006. Since that time the HiPoint team has developed the industry’s leading seismic fracture monitoring technology and joined with Apex Petroleum Engineering to form APEX HiPoint. Today Brian focuses on delivering client results in a timely manner and general company management. Additionally he continues to work as a member of the data processing and software development teams to continually improve Apex HiPoint's products and services.

John Harkrider
Manager / Member / Principal Petroleum Engineer
E-mail: jdharkrider@apexpe.com

John has over twenty two years of experience in the oil and gas industry. He specializes in cradle to grave projects that began at permitting and end with the well being put on line. All phases of the operation were covered, from drilling rig supervision, to drilling and completion engineering to on-site, real-time stimulation. John has participated in cooperative research and development programs such as new methods of evaluating in-situ stress tests, diagnosing critical fracture parameters, beta testing of FRACPRO and successfully refined horizontal well completion techniques in several projects throughout the U.S.

Mitch Kniffin
Manager / Member / Principal Petroleum Engineer / Sales
E-mail: kniffin@apexpe.com

Mitch is a practicing petroleum engineer with twenty years experience with a principal service firm in the oil and gas industry. He has extensive experience in engineering, management, and sales and a thorough knowledge of drilling, workover and completion operations. Mitch specializes in design and evaluation of hydraulic fracturing treatments including real-time execution of fracturing treatments in Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Wyoming and California. He also performs reservoir engineering field studies, designs and executes stimulation treatments on horizontal wells using a new, patented process, the Ported Sub Treatment System.
